The Fire and The Rain

April 25, 2009 · 4 Comments

I had my Theatre Studies Practical exam last Thursday. It was incredible. All the emotions and the bloopers and hiccups.

We had an Indian play in English and hence, the thick eyeliner makeup. (SH, it was ‘cos of this exam hence you saw me with that makeup at The Deck last Thurdsay!)

I played the role of Nittilai, a Hunter who was of the lower caste.

My favourite classroom in NUS. This is where we had all our TS practical lessons and rehearsals. Hours of hard work were spent here. :(

Our trip to Little India (yes, Dickson, it’s Little India all right!)

Our big day.

I was to give a piercing scream before my ‘husband’ slit my throat and then I would die.

And the most classic moment of our play was when my co-actor(the one in green pants) was cartwheeling out of the stage, his pants split! I heard ‘plsssssz’ and had to continue acting with 3 examiners watching. Normally, I was the one who would laugh uncontrollably over nothing. That day,  I managed to act like nothing happened. Like they said, EPIC.

There are many more pictures and a video which my friends had uploaded onto Facebook; as I refuse to jump onto the Facebook bandwagon I can’t view these pictures! Yes, I’m a laggard.

To my loveliest TS group mates, I had truly enjoyed myself working with you guys. Sadly, when kantang goes back to Canada, we won’t be able to work together anymore. Hopefully we can all go for SEP to Canada. :D

Meanwhile, 4 more papers to go. And a whooping 3 months of holidays. Off to mug to get my A+. Ha..

The tutor ain’t the grumpy green guy (oops!haha) at the back. Rather, the lady smiling sweetly in the front.

Here’s the quotes she gave us:

Memory… is the diary that we all carry about with us.
~Oscar Wilde, “The Importance of Being Earnest”

One need not be a chamber to be haunted;
One need not be a house;
The brain has corridors surpassing
Material place.
~Emily Dickinson, “Time and Eternity”
