Day One Part II

July 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Amazing Race:

Food is essential to my group.

IKEA:

(I was extremely unglam throughout the camp. sigh.)

Singapore Flyer:

At this location, we got to get across from one point to the other using (X-1) number of items, where X is the number of members on your team.

This is what most groups did.

One word: boring. *snicker* Haha.

After a round of intensive discussion,

We go high high high!

We finished the feat at lightning speed. I’m very proud of my group’s creativity. We always do things differently. More to come!

Day One Part I(mass games)

July 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’m proud that I was the first freshie to report to my OG on the first day, which was 15th July’08. My OG is RAMBO and we’re green. I’m not too much of a green person and apparently my wardrobe is in a major deficit of green clothings. I was texting my facilitator that I don’t have any green top blah blah in hope to swap places to join Yi Hui in her group. Ha.. In the end the transfer ain’t approved, to my delight thereafter.

Day 1 was mass games in NUS, followed by the Amazing Race and finally, we were to settled at East Coast Park for the night. There was this Secret Pal (SP) session every night, which I will talk about it next time.

As the title of the post suggests, this is about mass games.

Ice breaker and waiting for things to kick start:

(I was trying very hard to catch the words of a certain cheer)

There’s a “Cludeo” in which the comm will put up a short skit everyday and we will have to keep track of the storyline and finally guess the ending of the story and act it out on campfire night.

Here’s the first scene.

A green monster attacking a kingdom by assaulting the king.

Then 6 super heroes tried to salvage the kingdom with much difficulties.

Hence, the green monster ruled the kingdom. ( at this point of time, playing Viva La Vida is appropriate. hahah)

Mass games:

(learning a cheer, yes, a cheer)

Objective of this game: throw your slippers into the hula hoop.

My VS slipper.

Second part of the game- transport the bucket, which is filled with some water, using your feet to retrieve your slippers and return to the starting point.

Our opponents: Sun Wu Kong.

Third part of the game- place the hula hoop on the ground together.

We lost. Ha.

(who are these people??!!!)

2nd game: Dodge ball style with water bombs.

Our opponents: RoboCop

We lost, again. Ha.

Third game- Wet your opponents’ papers with water bombs when both parties are blindfolded.

Our opponents: Optimus Prime

Aim and fire!

‘Cuddle together’ tactic.

The girls’ feet are all on the ground.

Despite this happy shot, we lost the game too. Ain’t we good?

The next game- If you can’t tell me what’s my name, get splashed!

(I think the girl in the center is very pretty)

Our opponents: Eragon

Doing a combined cheer.

Say Hi to the green losers.

Losing all the games ain’t a big deal you know. We enjoy losing.

Painting our flag:

(The guy on far left looks like some mediacorp guy right!)

Our Rambo is a cockeyed and the nose bled was an accident.

Admiring our work. It’s a pretty little art piece, ain’t it?

ROARRR!!

Briefing before we set off to our Amazing Race.

I believe that you had to go through the camp to understand how fun it was. Words can’t really express my experiences I gained during the camp. It’s probably the most fun thing I had done in a long long time.

joy and disgust

I had a great deal of fun at NUS Risco Rovers Camp which was from 15th to 18th July. I will blog about it soon. Too many pictures!

DIsgust:

A foreigner who looks like a typical Lucky Plaza goer stopped me outside Tang today when I was walking alone.

Him: Excuse me..

Me: Yea?

Him: Eh.. sorry……

Me: What’s the matter? *looking concerned* (I was thinking that he wanted to ask for directions)

Him: Are you free tonight? *with a lewd face*

I was stunned upon that question. I shot him a dirty look and walked away as quickly as I could. Yucks. What is S’pore becoming to?
